How can I maintain volume in my hair extensions throughout the day?
Using a volumizing mousse on damp hair before blow-drying works wonders. I focus it on the roots to add lift without making the ends feel heavy.
@Isabella, same here! Just be sure to choose an extension-safe mousse. Some can be drying, which isn’t great for keeping extensions soft.
Dry shampoo is also a good option. It adds volume to the roots and keeps oil at bay, so extensions don’t get weighed down.
For a quick volume boost, I tease my roots a bit and then smooth the top layer. Adds height without too much fuss!
I avoid heavy styling products. Lightweight sprays or mousses work better and don’t weigh down the hair as much.
Clip-in volumizers can add a bit of lift too. They’re easy to remove at the end of the day and don’t damage your natural hair or extensions.
I curl my extensions with a large barrel curling iron to give more body. Curls add natural volume and don’t need touch-ups throughout the day if you set them with a light hairspray.
A round brush during blow-drying can add volume, especially if you focus on lifting at the roots. I like using a medium round brush with my blow dryer on the cool setting.
I’ve tried using texturizing powder at the roots for instant lift. It adds volume and is lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh down the hair.
Texturizing spray is another option! It gives a bit of grip to the roots and makes extensions look fuller without using too much product.
@Harper, I second the texturizing spray! It adds that bit of texture you need to keep extensions looking voluminous without feeling sticky.
